Jahra Hospital launches specialized home-care training for families

The Jahra Hospital has launched Kuwait’s first specialized training initiative to equip parents and caregivers with the practical skills needed to safely care for children with complex medical conditions at home and support their transition from hospital to home.
The Ministry of Health said the program covers the use of medical devices and equipment, emergency response procedures, and the provision of emergency kits for tracheostomy and feeding tubes.
The initiative is being implemented by the Complex Medical Conditions Care Unit, headed by Dr. Ahmed Jaafar, through structured training modules, skills assessments and educational materials, including instructional videos.
The Ministry said the initiative strengthens the role of families as key partners in caring for children with complex medical needs and helps ensure their transition home is safe and tailored to their individual health requirements.
