DPK’s Team Rolan snatches away grand prize

Darterong Pinoy sa Kuwait (Filipino Darters in Kuwait),one of the Filipino organizations in the country held a three-man dart tournament at Garahe Lounge in Little Manila building at Old Souklocated in Salmiya. The competition included six teams, which contended individually, double and three member team.
The competition was spearheaded by Renato Niegas, club President and Ramil Vergado, Vice President, organized by the tournament Chairperson Mario Geronimo Jr. with the club steering committee; Aldin Banag, Mario Abejon, Dante Javier, Rolan Tesorero and Richard Ortiz.
The tournament kicked off on June 14, 2024 with team Rolan leading,followed by team Mario and team Jomer while the other 3 teams followed behind. On its second week and deciding stage of the elimination round, team Rolan remains on top with the highest achieved points among other competing groups.
The tournament uses the ladder system in which the two loosing teams compete on the playoff round and winner battles with the rest until it goes head on with the leading group to play for the championship.
Team Nick composed of Nick Niegas, Mario Geronimo and Leo Babulon was one of the teams on the bottom list, which contended against the others and eventually ended face to face with ranked one team for championship.
On the deciding match of the championship, Team Rolan hit the first outings by Rolan Tesorero. However, Team Nick bounced back as Mario Geronimo hit the next outings.
The final match of the championship stirred excitement as the two teams hit competitively approached the final stage of the 501 best of 3 matches. Finally, Ram Batayon of team Rolan saved the day for his team as he hit the final and last outing and bagged the grand prize.
The awarding ceremony followed right after the championship with winners awarded with cash prizes, certificates and surprise gift from the owner of Garahe Lounge.
Darterong Pinoy sa Kuwait (DPK) will host continuously dart tournament for all Filipinos in Kuwait to ease homesickness and provide entertainment.
