Coast Guard records 73 marine violations, arrests seven lawbreakers in just one week
. . . after taking over enhanced duties involving fishing oversight and awareness campaigns across Kuwait’s marine areas

The General Administration of Coast Guard has recorded 73 maritime violations and arrested seven violators of maritime safety (engaging in reckless and foolhardy acts with jet skis) and fishing laws, in just one week after taking over enhanced duties involving fishing oversight and awareness campaigns across Kuwait’s marine areas.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the violations included entering forbidden marine zones, fishing without licenses, and engaging in illegal fishing activities that pose risks to maritime security, environmental sustainability, and public safety.
The Coast Guard emphasized that the campaigns form part of broader efforts to strengthen oversight of Kuwait’s territorial waters while promoting awareness among fishermen and sea-goers regarding compliance with marine regulations.
The Ministry of Interior urged all users of marine areas to adhere to laws and regulations, maintain responsible behavior at sea, and avoid practices that could endanger lives, property, or expose violators to legal action.
Officials stressed that enforcement campaigns and awareness efforts will continue as part of ongoing measures to protect Kuwait’s marine environment and ensure safe navigation and fishing activities.
The General Administration of Coast Guard was able, within just 7 days after assuming duties related to fishing regulation and awareness, to seize violators and monitor violations of laws and regulations related to fishing. This came through intensified security campaigns and awareness efforts carried out in marine areas.
