Citizenship Grievance Committee receives over 14,000 complaints to date

Committee ensures that all affected individuals have the opportunity to file their grievances with ease and accessibility

Counselor Ali Al-Dhubaibi, Head of the Cabinet’s Grievances Committee for the Withdrawal, Forfeiture, and Loss of Kuwaiti Citizenship, announced that the committee had received 14,360 grievance requests as of the end of official working hours on Wednesday.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Dhubaibi confirmed that the committee continues to accept grievance submissions around the clock, seven days a week, including official holidays.

This ensures that all affected individuals have the opportunity to file their grievances with ease and accessibility.

Al-Dhubaibi noted that the committee had reviewed a presentation by the Secretariat summarizing the nature of submitted grievances, their statistics, and the procedural steps taken in preparation for a detailed study of all cases received via the committee’s official electronic platform.

He clarified that grievance requests pertain specifically to decrees or decisions issued between February 20, 2024, and April 30, 2025, which involved the withdrawal, revocation, or loss of Kuwaiti citizenship, or the annulment of Kuwaiti citizenship certificates. These decisions were published in the Government Gazette (Kuwait Alyawm).

The grievance period officially opened on Sunday, May 4, 2025, and will remain open for 60 days. Al-Dhubaibi stressed that the committee will not consider any grievance filed before this date or submitted through any method other than the designated electronic platform.

He urged individuals who wish to contest a decree or decision affecting their citizenship status to complete the required data via the official grievance portal: https://nationalitygrievances.cmgs.gov.kw

Al-Dhubaibi also reaffirmed the committee’s readiness to assist anyone encountering difficulties in submitting their grievance, encouraging them to contact the committee through its provided communication channels for technical support or inquiries.
