CID men solve the mystery of missing Indian, body found buried in Salmi desert

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced that security authorities have solved the mystery surrounding the disappearance of an Indian resident whose body was later found buried in the Al-Salmi desert area.

One suspect has been arrested and efforts continue to apprehend another who has reportedly left the country.

In a press statement, the ministry said investigations show on March 19, 2026, the victim had accompanied the owner of heavy equipment to the Al-Salmi desert area to carry out maintenance work, after which all contact with him was lost.

The ministry said investigations, backed by traffic surveillance footage, confirmed that the victim had traveled with the suspects to the Al-Salmi area, but was absent from the vehicle on its return journey, prompting suspicions of foul play behind his disappearance.

Authorities later arrested the son of the main suspect, who confessed during questioning that the victim had died after a crane fell on him while working at the site.

According to the confession, the suspect and his father allegedly transported the body to a remote desert area and buried it in an attempt to conceal the incident and avoid legal accountability.

Following the confession, security personnel were led to the burial site, where teams from the General Department of Criminal Evidence, the Trace Department, and the Kuwait Fire Force recovered the body.

The Public Prosecution ordered the removal of the body and the completion of legal procedures. The arrested suspect has been referred to the competent authorities, while investigations and efforts continue to arrest the second suspect who reportedly left Kuwait.
