Blood donors mark Khalsa Sajna Diwas and Eid with a gift of life
The event not only marked the celebration of Baisakhi and Eid ul-Fitr, but also reinforced the values of compassion, unity, and community service in Kuwait’s multicultural society.

Known for their longstanding commitment to social service, Punjab Steel Factory – Kuwait organized a large-scale blood donation camp to mark Khalsa Sajna Diwas(Baisakhi) and Eid ul-Fitr.
The event was inaugurated by special guests Mr. Harit Shailat, Second Secretary at the Indian Embassy, and Mr. Felix de Faria, Deputy Ambassador of the Brazilian Embassy, who commended the humanitarian initiative.
Prominent Kuwaiti businessman Kuldeep Singh Lamba was also present and praised the organizers for their dedication.
Mr. De Faria further exemplified the spirit of humanity by donating blood himself. He, along with other dignitaries, engaged with the donors, offering words of encouragement and support.
Refreshments were provided to all blood donors, who also received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contribution.
Speaking at the event, Surjit Kumar and Bhupinder Penny noted that while blood donation camps are usually organized twice a year, the overwhelming enthusiasm from the community inspired them to hold four camps this year.
Although nearly 1,000 people turned up for the event, only 476 were able to donate blood due to documentation requirements.
The event not only marked the celebration of two major festivals but also reinforced the values of compassion, unity, and community service in Kuwait’s multicultural society.
