Bangladeshi expats in Kuwait donate blood for victims of Kuwait airport drone attack
Demonstrating solidarity and humanitarian commitment, hundreds of Bangladeshi expatriates in Kuwait responded to an appeal from the Embassy of Bangladesh and participated in a blood donation campaign to support those injured in the drone attack at Kuwait International Airport on June 3, 2026.
Following reports of an urgent need for blood for patients receiving treatment after the attack, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, OSP, awc, psc, accompanied by four embassy officials, immediately visited the Central Blood Bank in Jabriya and donated blood. The Embassy subsequently called upon members of the Bangladeshi community in Kuwait to join this humanitarian initiative in support of the brotherly people of Kuwait.
The response from the Bangladeshi expatriate community was overwhelming. On June 4 and 5, large numbers of Bangladeshi residents gathered at the Kuwait Central Blood Bank to donate blood for the injured victims. A total of 266 expatriates registered for the campaign. Following the mandatory medical screening process, 178 donors were found eligible and successfully donated blood.
The initiative highlighted the strong bonds of friendship and solidarity between Bangladesh and Kuwait. It also reflected the deep sense of responsibility and compassion of the Bangladeshi community living in Kuwait, who came forward to support those affected during a difficult time.
The Embassy of Bangladesh expressed its sincere appreciation to all volunteers who participated in the campaign and reaffirmed its commitment to standing alongside the people of Kuwait in times of need.
This remarkable humanitarian response serves as a testament to the enduring friendship between the peoples of Bangladesh and Kuwait and the spirit of mutual support that transcends national boundaries.
