ITEF Kuwait hosts technical seminar, showcases advanced engineering technologies

The International Tamil Engineers Forum (ITEF), a not-for-profit organization registered with the Government of India as a Section 8 company, organized a technical seminar in Kuwait on October 27, bringing together engineering professionals and industry leaders to explore innovative technologies in electrical actuation and rotating equipment.

Held at Al-Hashemi Ballroom, Radisson Blu Hotel, Salwa, the seminar was organized by the ITEF Kuwait Chapter, which holds ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. The forum focuses on professional development, structured networking and technical skills enhancement.

The program opened with a safety presentation on ‘Safety in Design’ by Er. Vasudevan, Safety Engineer at KNPC. Er. Rajkumar, Joint Secretary of ITEF Startup, shared the startup thought for the day, while the welcome address was delivered by ITEF Kuwait Chapter Vice-President Er. Karthik Ramdoss.

During the event, the chapter leadership presented the organization’s ISO certificates and congratulated the team led by Er. Mohan Raj for its efforts in securing the certifications.

The technical program featured two sessions showcasing specialized engineering solutions. The first, on failsafe electrical actuators, was presented by Felix Schiebel, General Manager of Schiebel Actuators, Austria, and Er. Sathish Kumar, Managing Director of Schiebel Middle East.

The second session, focusing on rotating equipment expertise, was conducted by Er. Thomas Arakal, Managing Director of HYDRO Inc. for the MENA region. Both presentations generated strong audience participation through interactive question-and-answer sessions.

The seminar attracted prominent representatives from the oil and gas and power sectors, including officials from KNPC, KOC, Sabiya Power Plant, MEW, Al Mulla Group, Ms RANK and HEISCO. The participation of industry leaders and technical professionals gave the event the character of a mini-conference, providing a platform for exchanging expertise and discussing emerging engineering technologies.

ITEF also announced its upcoming annual International Conference, scheduled for November 29 and 30, 2026, at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel in Kuwait. The conference will carry the theme ‘Connecting the 3i’s: Innovation, Investment and Impact’. Conference Director Dr. Makenthiran outlined the program and invited participants to attend.

Under the guidance of Global Chairman Er. Krishna Jegan, ITEF Kuwait Chapter President Er. Suresh and the executive committee are coordinating preparations for the international event.

The seminar concluded with the felicitation of the presenters, annual sponsors KMMC and SATCO Energy, and event sponsors Ms RANK Kuwait and TEXEL Engineering Kuwait. The vote of thanks was delivered by ITEF Kuwait Chapter Joint Secretary Er. Ananthakumar.

ITEF is led by Chairman Er. Krishna Jegan and Managing Director Er. Selvam, with a focus on advancing engineering professionals through knowledge-sharing, networking and skills development.
