Attempt to smuggle 150 kgs of hashish into the country

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, arrested two people in possession of about 150 kilograms of narcotic hashish that they attempted to bring into the country, with an estimated market value of a quarter of a million dinars.

The Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior stated that upon confronting the accused, they admitted that the seized items did belong to them for the purpose of trafficking and abuse. Subsequently the two dealers and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take legal measures against them.

As per the media briefing the seizure comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to combat the drug and psychotropic substances menace, track down dealers and smugglers, and protect society from this devastating scourge.
