Ministry of Interior crackdown leads to KD 220,000 drug haul and eight arrests
Seized narcotics included 50 kg of hashish, 25,000 Lyricacapsules, 5 kilogram of Shabu, one kilogram of chemicals, 2,000 Captagon tablets, two sensitive scales, and a quantity of empty bags.

The General Department of Drug Control at the Ministry of Interior conducted intensive security campaigns across various areas, leading to the arrest of eight suspects—four citizens and four expats. Seized narcotics included 50 kg of hashish, 25,000 Lyrica capsules, 5 kilogram of Shabu, one kilogram of chemicals, 2,000 Captagon tablets, two sensitive scales, and a quantity of empty bags, the Al Rai newspaper reported.
The Ministry of Interior stated that “the market value of the seized items is estimated at approximately 220,000 dinars,” noting that “the accused and the confiscated items have been referred to the Drugs and Alcohol Prosecution Office for legal action.”
The General Department of Drug Control reaffirmed its commitment to continuing intensive campaigns to apprehend drug smugglers and dealers, aiming to safeguard society and protect it from this dangerous scourge.
