Amir of Kuwait, French President witness signing of strategic, cultural declarations of intent
In a significant step toward deepening bilateral ties, His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and French President Emmanuel Macron attended a ceremonial signing at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Monday afternoon.
The event marked the formalization of two major Declarations of Intent between the Government of the State of Kuwait and the Government of the French Republic.
Strategic Investment Partnership (2025–2035) — The first declaration outlines a long-term strategic investment partnership between Kuwait and France, extending over a decade from 2025 to 2035. This agreement signals a mutual commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and driving joint investments in key sectors.
Cultural Cooperation and Anniversary Celebration — The second declaration focuses on cultural collaboration between the two nations and commemorates the upcoming 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026. It aims to foster cultural exchange and strengthen people-to-people ties through various initiatives.
The documents were signed by Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.
