ALSAYER Group honors Kuwaiti teams for reaching Global Hydrogen Racing Finals
ALSAYER Group has recognized and awarded Kuwaiti student teams following their strong performance at the Horizon Educational Regional Race, held at the company’s KFTZ 1 office on June 24, 2026.
The event is part of a global initiative focused on clean energy innovation and hydrogen fuel cell technologies, aiming to equip students with practical skills in engineering, design, teamwork and problem-solving.
Chairman of ALSAYER Group, Faisal Bader Al-Sayer, said the competition reflects a leading international platform that fosters creativity and technical thinking among young participants.
He noted that the participation of schools, Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training demonstrates a unified national effort to support youth development in science and technology.
Dr. Noura Aljeri, Assistant Professor at Kuwait University’s Department of Computer Science, highlighted the importance of such partnerships in building innovation-driven skills and preparing students for future scientific and engineering challenges.
The national qualifiers saw several teams securing places in the upcoming H2 Grand Prix Pro Finals in Switzerland. Among the winners, the Sonic team from Al Sabahiya School placed first in the school category, while Kuwait University topped the university division.
The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training secured second place, and Maria Al Qibtiyya School came third.
Special category awards were also presented, with Salman Al Farsi School and Al Waha School receiving the Team Spirit Award.
The Innovation Award went to Maria Al Qibtiyya School, the Marketing Award to Al Israa Secondary School for Girls, and the Outstanding Design Award to Al Sharqiyah Secondary School for Girls.
ALSAYER Group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational and sustainability-focused initiatives, pledging continued backing for Kuwaiti teams as they prepare to represent the country on the global stage in Switzerland.
