Mubarak Al-Kabeer dominates Kuwait’s construction activity with 366 buildings

Construction activity in Kuwait is heavily concentrated in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, which accounts for nearly half of all buildings currently under construction in the country, according to official data from the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI).
The latest figures show that 794 buildings are currently under construction across Kuwait’s six governorates. Of these, 366 are in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, representing 46.1 percent of the national total. The Capital Governorate ranks second with 131 buildings, or 16.5 percent of the total, while Al-Ahmadi comes third with 95 buildings, accounting for about 12 percent.
The remaining buildings are spread across three other governorates. Al-Jahra has 84 buildings under construction, followed by Al-Farwaniyah with 74, while Hawalli has 44, the lowest number among Kuwait’s six governorates. The figures show just how uneven construction activity is across the country. Mubarak Al-Kabeer and the Capital Governorate together account for 497 buildings, or 62.6 percent of all buildings under construction in Kuwait.
In other words, almost two out of every three buildings currently being constructed in Kuwait are located in these two governorates. The gap is particularly clear when Mubarak Al-Kabeer is compared with the other governorates. Its 366 buildings are 235 more than the 131 recorded in the Capital, which ranks second.
Mubarak Al-Kabeer’s construction activity is also greater than the combined total recorded in Al-Ahmadi, Al-Jahra and Al-Farwaniyah, which together have 253 buildings under construction. The data provides a snapshot of where Kuwait’s current building activity is taking place and highlights the significant differences between governorates.
While construction is continuing across the country, the figures point to a clear concentration of activity in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, with the Capital also accounting for a substantial share.
