Ministry of Education gears up to bolster its human resources
As the Ministry of Education gears up for the upcoming academic year, it is actively working to bolster its human resources, including both teachers and administrators. According to sources familiar with the matter, the Ministry has entered into contracts with 38,433 male and female teachers over the past six years. Additionally, during the same period, it has contracted with 7,375 administrators.
The Ministry’s contracting efforts have seen significant numbers in recent years, with 7,348 teachers contracted in 2023, 7,012 in 2022, 7,976 in 2021, 4,179 in 2020, and 6,102 in 2019. In 2018, a total of 5,816 teachers were contracted, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Moreover, the Ministry has facilitated educational scholarships for 6,921 male and female employees, while also managing residency renewal transactions for 71,813 expatriate teachers and administrators. Additionally, 7,841 promotions were granted based on selection criteria, and 8,709 transactions were processed for updating housing allowances.
In response to ongoing needs, the Ministry has initiated procedures for accepting applications from new male and female teachers in specific subject areas. Interested individuals who meet the necessary qualifications can now apply for educational positions through the Ministry’s website.
Despite these efforts, the Ministry faces challenges in some educational specializations, particularly with the impending opening of several new schools in various areas including Al-Mutlaa, West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, South Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Al-Khiran, Al-Wafra, and Sabah Al-Ahmad City. It is anticipated that more than 11 new schools across different educational levels will be operational at the start of the new academic year, aiming to cater to the educational needs of residents in these areas.
