India’s Ministry of External Affairs announced that External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will undertake an official tour of Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman from July 5 to 10 as part of New Delhi’s efforts to strengthen strategic ties with Gulf nations and discuss key regional and international developments.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, Jaishankar is scheduled to hold talks with his counterparts and senior leadership in the four countries, with discussions focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, in addition to exchanging views on issues of mutual concern and the latest regional developments.
Following the Gulf tour, the Indian foreign minister will travel to New York on July 13 to officially launch India’s campaign for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028-2029 term.
Jaishankar will then head to Brussels on July 14 and 15 to participate in the third India-European Union Trade and Technology Council meeting, where he is also expected to meet European Union and Belgian officials to discuss expanding economic, trade and technology cooperation.
The visit reflects India’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to deepen strategic partnerships with Gulf countries and strengthen engagement with international partners as New Delhi seeks a greater role on the global stage.
