Qatar dismantles two cells working for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard

As part of continued efforts to protect the state’s security and maintain its stability, competent bodies managed to arrest two cells working in favor of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in Qatar, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Tuesday.

Accurate follow-up and monitoring operations resulted in the arrest of seven accused, some of them tasked with espionage duties to collect data about the military and vital facilities in the state, and some others were assigned to conduct rioting acts, it added.

The accused, who were trained in using drones, had images of sensitive sites and facilities, as well as communication means and technical devices, it noted.

During investigations, the accused admitted that they are linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and that they were tasked with espionage and rioting acts. The state’s security agency appealed to both citizens and expats to be vigilant and cautious and inform competent bodies about any suspected activities, according to the agency.
