Kuwait–Moscow link takes off as national carrier boosts global network

As part of its strategy to strengthen its global network and offer wider travel choices, Kuwait Airways has announced the launch of direct flights to the Russian capital, Moscow, beginning March 16.

The new route will operate three times weekly on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, with reservations opening Thursday at 12:00 pm.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Captain Abdulwahab Al-Shatti said the addition of Moscow reflects the national carrier’s efforts to meet growing travel demand between Kuwait and Russia while providing passengers with expanded options for tourism and business travel.

Al-Shatti noted that selecting Moscow aligns with Kuwait Airways’ ongoing plans to broaden its destination network and reinforce its presence across regional and international markets, reports Al-Qabas daily.

He emphasized that the airline continues to implement a carefully planned expansion strategy that supports Kuwait’s ambition to strengthen its role as a regional aviation hub.

He added that the airline had earlier unveiled its Summer 2026 flight schedule, introducing several new destinations including Alexandria, Sharm El Sheikh, Salalah, Zurich, Mykonos, Antalya, Trabzon, Sarajevo, Vienna, and Bodrum.

The expansion aims to diversify travel options, accommodate rising seasonal demand, and enhance operational efficiency as part of the company’s long-term growth strategy.
