Iran has partially reopened its airspace to international flights transiting its eastern regions, the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority announced.
Civil aviation authorities said that “air corridors in the eastern part of Iranian airspace are open to international flights transiting Iran,” adding that some airports were also reopened at 7 a.m. (03:30 GMT), reports Al-Rai daily.
More than three hours after the announcement, flight tracking websites showed that Iranian airspace was clear of any international overflights, while others resorted to long detours to avoid its airspace.
