The Tamang community from Nepal in Kuwait celebrated Sonam Lhosar 2862 (Manjushree Sambat, Ta Lho – Year of the Horse) as a proud cultural festival with a vibrant and well-organized program.

The event was hosted by Nepal Tamang Ghedung Kuwait on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Aspire Indian School auditorium in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.

The celebration featured captivating performances by popular guest artists Aasman Lopchan, Laxmi Syangtan Tamang, and Rijan Thing Lama, along with talented local performers. Their music and dance brought warmth to the chilly winter evening and filled the hall with joy and energy.

The program reflected Tamang heritage through traditional dances, colorful ethnic attire, and live folk music. The event was chaired by Pema Lama, with the Ambassador of Nepal to Kuwait, H.E. Ghanashyam Lamsal, attending as the chief guest.

Representatives from Non-Resident Nepali Association Kuwait, Federation of Nepali Journalists Kuwait, and Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities Kuwait also graced the occasion.

The presence of leaders from various Nepali community organizations, social workers, intellectuals, journalists, artists, and both Tamang and non-Tamang well-wishers made the celebration even more meaningful and memorable.

Organizers shared that such programs play a vital role in preserving the Nepali language, art, and culture among the diaspora.
