Kuwait retains its position on Global Corruption Perceptions Index
. . . seventh in Arab World; same score, stronger resolve

Kuwait has maintained its ranking in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2025, scoring 46 points, the same as in 2024. This places the country seventh among Arab nations and 65th globally, according to the latest report released by Transparency International.
Majed Al-Mutairi, Chairman of the Kuwait Transparency Association, told Al-Rai that the report draws on eight key sources to assess public sector integrity. He explained that Kuwait’s performance varied across the sources: in some, the country showed progress; in others, there was regression; and in a third group, it maintained its previous level.
Al-Mutairi emphasized that maintaining Kuwait’s position reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability, while highlighting areas that require further improvement to meet global standards.
The report underscores the importance of continuous reforms in governance, institutional oversight, and public awareness to enhance trust in state institutions and combat corruption effectively.
