
Oman and the United Kingdom on Thursday underscored the importance of preserving maritime security and ensuring the safe flow of shipping in the region, in support of global supply chain stability.
According to a statement by Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the remarks came during a meeting between Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi and UK Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy, who is currently visiting Muscat.
The two sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments and their implications, said the statement.
It pointed out that both officials emphasized the need to intensify international efforts to deescalate tensions, enhance dialogue channels, and advance peaceful and diplomatic solutions to reinforce security and stability at both regional and international levels.
They also discussed a number of topics related to the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries across various fields, it added.
