Kuwaiti arrested for publishing ‘abusive’ content on social media

The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a Kuwaiti citizen on charges of publishing content on social media platforms that violates public morals and constitutes a criminal offense.

In a statement, the ministry said that the person was monitored after posting a video containing phrases deemed offensive to public morals and inconsistent with the values and traditions of Kuwaiti society, reports Al-Rai daily.

When summoned by the authorities, the accused admitted to filming and publishing the video clip.

Accordingly, the accused has been referred, along with the case file and investigations, to the Media Prosecution to take the necessary legal action.
