The Indian community in Kuwait gathered in a spirited celebration of patriotism and unity on Friday, 15 August 2025, to mark the 79th Independence Day of India at the embassy premises.
The festivities began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Indian national flag by H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, Ambassador of India to Kuwait. As the Tricolour unfurled against the clear morning sky, the national anthem filled the embassy grounds, stirring a profound sense of pride the Indians who were present on the embassy grounds.
In his address, Ambassador Dr. Swaika paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured India’s independence, while reflecting on the nation’s achievements in technology, economic growth, and global diplomacy.
He also commended the Indian diaspora in Kuwait for their contributions to strengthening India’s reputation on the world stage.
The event drew Indian nationals from across Kuwait as well as local dignitaries.
The morning concluded with the sharing of traditional Indian refreshments, fostering a warm atmosphere of camaraderie.
As India marked its 79th year of independence, the celebrations at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait stood as both a tribute to the country’s historic struggle for freedom and a reaffirmation of the shared heritage, values, and aspirations that unite Indians around the world.
