Kuwaiti students activities in Canada hampered by lack of funds

Faleh Al-Ajmi, President of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students, Canada Branch, disclosed that the Union has been relying on financial commitments from previous administrations to cover its expenses for organizing student activities and events.

Speaking to Al-Jarida, Al-Ajmi stated that the Union’s ability to conduct activities has significantly diminished due to the growing number of students in Canada and the insufficient financial backing, posing challenges in the current year.

He further mentioned that, for unspecified reasons, the Union did not receive its budget for the year. Despite reaching out to relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Higher Education and the Executive Board of the Kuwait Students Union, they have not received any response regarding this matter.

Al-Ajmi highlighted a notable increase in the student population in Canada over the past two years, exceeding the usual numbers by 80 students. This surge necessitates attention to conduct awareness meetings and events that require financial support.
