PART in collaboration with GTD declares open bridge on Al-Ghous Road

The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PART in collaboration with the General Traffic Department, has announced the opening of a bridge on Al-Ghous Road at the intersection of Khalifa Talal Al-Jari Street (Route 210), leading from Fahd Al-Ahmad to the Seventh Ring Road.

Simultaneously, a traffic diversion under the bridge has been opened, directing traffic toward Al-Raqqa and the Fahaheel Expressway.

This is in addition to a temporary three-hour diversion to the Fifth Ring Road in both directions (at the intersection of the Fifth and Ibn Al Qasim Street) has been scheduled from Wednesday morning until Thursday morning, starting from 2 am until 5 am on the first of February.

Meanwhile, according to reliable sources within the Ministry of Public Works, numerous roads across the country, including highways and internal roads, are experiencing prolonged delays in maintenance and one notable example is Abdali Road, which has reportedly not undergone maintenance for almost 23 years.

PART is actively prioritizing the essential maintenance of highways in various regions. During a recent period, the authority conducted a comprehensive inventory of highways requiring immediate attention.

The sources attribute the delay in maintaining Abdali Road to procedural cycles and budget allocations within the Ministry of Works, as well as the ministry’s project priorities and maintenance activities.

The Ministry is reportedly awaiting the completion of various procedures related to maintenance tenders before initiating the necessary work on highway maintenance.

It is emphasized that direct contracting for road maintenance can expedite these crucial maintenance tasks. Notably, the “Roads” initiative is overseeing multiple ongoing projects, including the development of Abdali Road (across various sections) and other endeavors such as the enhancement of Cairo Road.
