The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned what it described as a “blatant and unjustified aggression,” warning that continued violations amid ongoing regional and international de-escalation efforts place full responsibility on Tehran for undermining peace initiatives.
The Ministry said the persistence of such actions, at a time when diplomatic and regional efforts are focused on calming tensions, reflects a pattern that threatens regional security and stability.
It added that these developments expose an approach based on destabilization, disruption, and the export of chaos.
Reaffirming Bahrain’s position, the Ministry stressed that peace cannot be achieved through intimidation, nor can security be imposed through aggression. It underscored that Bahrain’s resolve remains firm in the face of threats, and that national unity stands as a strong safeguard against any attempt to weaken its principles or undermine its determination.
The Ministry also referenced United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), introduced by Bahrain on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Jordan, and adopted with the support of 136 countries. It said the resolution reflects a broad international consensus on the need to uphold peace and security.
In this context, the Ministry stated that continued actions by Tehran constitute a direct challenge to the international will embodied in the resolution. It further noted that following commitments made under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed on 17 June 2026, pledging a permanent cessation of military operations and respect for regional sovereignty, recent developments represent a breach of those undertakings and demonstrate disregard for international obligations.
The Ministry reaffirmed that Bahrain reserves its full legal right to defend its sovereignty, security, and stability in accordance with international law, calling on the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities in ensuring the implementation of its resolutions and holding accountable those who violate them.
