Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior announced the execution of seven persons in Najran after they were convicted of smuggling hashish into the Kingdom. The group included four Somali nationals and three Ethiopian nationals.
The executions followed sentences issued by the competent court, upheld by the Supreme Court, and carried out upon the issuance of a Royal Order, according to news report.
In its statement, the ministry reaffirmed its strict stance against drug-related crimes, emphasizing that it will continue to confront narcotics trafficking with full force and warns that severe penalties await those who violate the Kingdom’s anti-drug laws.
