Kuwait launches radical renovation plan for aging school facilities

The Ministry of Education in Kuwait has initiated a comprehensive refurbishment plan targeting aging schools’ facilities across the country.
The plan, initiated by the Educational Facilities and Planning Sector, focuses on dramatically improving the quality of educational infrastructure and services by addressing major structural and functional deficiencies in old schools.
An engineering source revealed to Al-Rai that the plan includes complete renovation of deteriorating classrooms, laboratories, and key service areas; radical refurbishment of floors, roofs, and external walls and total replacement of outdated sanitary facilities.
The initiative officially took effect during the summer break and covers schools in all educational districts, particularly those that have not undergone major renovations for years.
The source confirmed that the activation of maintenance contracts was a key factor in ensuring the project’s timely rollout.
