Qatar’s Amir thanks GCC leaders for support shown during Iranian attack on Al Udeid Air Base

Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his gratitude on Tuesday to the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states for their solidarity with Qatar and their firm condemnation of the recent Iranian missile attack on Al Udeid Air Base.

According to a statement issued by the Qatari Amiri Diwan, Sheikh Tamim made the remarks during a meeting with GCC foreign ministers at Lusail Palace, held on the sidelines of the 49th extraordinary session of the GCC Ministerial Council in Doha, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The Amir emphasized that the attack represented a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the UN Charter.

In response, the foreign ministers reaffirmed their unified stance, condemning the attack and expressing full solidarity with Qatar.

They emphasized that the security of GCC countries is indivisible and that any threat to one member is a threat to all.

The ministers also discussed ways to strengthen mechanisms for joint Gulf cooperation and reviewed regional and international developments, with a particular focus on safeguarding stability and promoting diplomatic solutions to ongoing crises.

Sheikh Tamim concluded by wishing the ministers success in their deliberations, expressing hope that their efforts would lead to greater regional peace and unity.
