Social media activist lose citizenship for violating state security laws

The Supreme Committee for Investigating Kuwaiti Citizenship has decided to revoke the citizenship of a social media activist, citing actions taken “in the public interest.”
According to informed sources, the individual had created a fake account on the X platform and used it to carry out criminal acts, including insulting His Highness the Amir and spreading false rumors to undermine the prestige and stability of the state.
Security authorities identified the suspect and took him into custody, reports Al-Rai daily.
The sources confirmed that the accused admitted to owning the account and publishing the offensive content. It was also revealed that he is the son of naturalized citizen, which was a factor in the decision to revoke his Kuwaiti citizenship.
The decision, the sources said, was made in accordance with existing legal frameworks and in consideration of national security and public interest.
