Jordan officially reopened its airspace at 7:30 a.m. local time (05:30 GMT) today (Saturday), the country’s Civil Aviation Authority announced. The decision came after a precautionary suspension of flights the previous day due to heightened military tensions between Iran and Israel.
The temporary closure was implemented as a safety measure amid fears of potential escalation in the region, which had prompted several neighboring countries to restrict or shut down their airspace, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the decision to resume air traffic was made following careful assessment of the security situation and in coordination with relevant national agencies to ensure the safety of civil aviation operations.
Airlines are expected to gradually resume their scheduled flights through Jordanian airspace, which serves as a critical corridor for regional and international aviation.
