Kuwaiti photographer captures rare natural phenomenon at Al-Hala Island

Kuwaiti photographer and environmentalist Dr. Abdullah Al-Zaidan has documented Al-Hala Island, a rare and stunning natural phenomenon located in the Al-Zour area in the southern Kuwaiti Sea.
The island appears as a temporary sandbar during low tide and vanishes entirely during high tide, making it a unique attraction for nature lovers and tranquility seekers.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Zaidan described Al-Hala Island as an ideal destination for eco-tourism, offering a pollution-free environment where visitors can enjoy pristine waters and interact with nature in its purest form. Its ever-changing landscape makes it a fascinating experience for those seeking something off the beaten path.
He emphasized the importance of preserving such fragile marine environments, noting that the surrounding Al-Zour coast is rich in biodiversity, including endangered green turtles, coral reefs, and a variety of migratory and resident seabirds.
These features highlight the area’s ecological significance and the need for sustainable tourism practices.
Dr. Al-Zaidan called for responsible visitation to Al-Hala Island to raise environmental awareness and ensure the protection of its delicate ecosystems for future generations.
