Ambassador of Sudan joins blood donation drive in Kuwait

‘Our hands for the homeland, our hearts for humanity — giving through health and compassion.’

In a gesture of solidarity and gratitude, the Ambassador of Sudan to Kuwait, H.E. Awad Al-Karim Al-Rayah Balla, participated in a blood donation campaign organized by the Sudanese Nursing Association in Kuwait. The event, held recently at the Central Blood Bank in Jabriya, was launched under the slogan: ‘Our Hands for the Homeland, Our Hearts for Humanity — Giving Through Health and Compassion.’

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Balla emphasized that this humanitarian initiative is a heartfelt expression of appreciation for the people and government of Kuwait. He noted that Kuwait has consistently stood by Sudan in times of need, offering unwavering support over the years, especially during periods of crisis.

“Kuwait has never hesitated to extend a helping hand to Sudan — whether through humanitarian aid, political support, or in the media. It has earned a place of deep respect and affection in the hearts of Sudanese people across generations,” the ambassador stated.

He also highlighted Kuwait’s critical role during the 2024 conflict in Sudan, noting the country’s immediate response through a robust airlift of aid, as well as overland and maritime humanitarian assistance. Kuwait’s firm stance in international forums, supporting Sudanese legitimacy, further underscored its commitment, he added.

The campaign saw enthusiastic participation from Sudanese residents across Kuwait, including in Wafra, Abdali, Kabd, Jahra, Sulaibiya, and Fintas. Dozens turned out to donate blood in a show of appreciation for Kuwait and in support of humanitarian causes.

The event was also attended by Mohammad Saleh Assaf, President of the Kuwait Nursing Society, along with a number of healthcare professionals and volunteers. Their presence reflected the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood that binds the Kuwaiti and Sudanese communities.
