The Swiss Ambassador to Kuwait, H. E. Dr. Tiziano Balmelli, stressed that the embassy is a bridge of communication between Switzerland and Kuwait, urging Kuwaitis to invest in Swiss companies and ‘make profits’.
In a statement on the sidelines of hosting a conference at his residence, aimed at exploring artificial intelligence opportunities in Kuwait, with the participation of Kuwaiti entrepreneurs and AI enthusiasts, the Swiss Ambassador highlighted the collaboration with the Swiss-Kuwait Business Platform and the presence of a delegation from SwissAI.
The SwissAI, a Swiss technology company that uses AI-supported predictive modeling to help companies and governments in the real estate, energy, and mobility sectors make data-driven decisions, was also featured.
The Swiss Ambassador stated that SwissAI provides Artificial Intelligence technology and has important insights on how markets, infrastructure, and community needs develop, enabling customers to improve investments, increase profit, and achieve long-term sustainability goals.
Furthermore, the Swiss Ambassador added that, SwissAI specializes in predictive technology for the real estate, energy, and mobility sectors, using advanced Artificial Intelligence algorithms to simulate future demand for key resources.
This helps customers predict market trends and enables companies to understand how today’s decisions; impact their assets in the long term. Also SwissAI’s advanced AI platform provides actionable insights across various sectors, focusing on predicting future demand for real estate, assessing factors such as traffic, sales, rental demand, and job market locations. It enhances profitability, development, urban planning, and offers smart city solutions.
The Swiss Ambassador concluded that, everyone knows that in Switzerland they produce excellent watches and chocolates. But they also have great companies and smart people who are active in the field of artificial intelligence and new technologies, working to develop world-class solutions.
Interestingly, this has a double interest for Kuwait and Kuwaitis: buying these solutions to serve the country, but also investing in these Swiss companies and making profits. The Swiss embassy is happy to work as bridge builders to connect people on both sides, said the Swiss Ambassador.
For her part, the CEO of SwissAI, Anna Gawlikowska, stressed that Kuwait will be moving towards artificial intelligence now, and there will be decisions on construction and infrastructure that will remain in the memory of generations of Kuwaitis.
At the moment, there are multiple options to provide quality services for the future life of Kuwaitis, and how they can make the system flexible in the field of energy so that it is more distributed and does not necessarily depend on one central system.
Gawlikowska expressed her belief that Kuwait has one of the greatest potentials to establish a smart strategy; it is a source of a lot of knowledge, and this is historical. Kuwait was sitting and watching the horizon of change, and now it’s time to work, and we can already help in this progress.
Moreover, Gawlikowska said that she felt honoured to be in Kuwait, and she really hoped that together we can build something to help create a better future.
In a statement on the sidelines of his participation in the event, Dr. Mohammed Khaja, a Research Associate at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research in the Department of Systems and Software Development, said that at the Institute, they have applied artificial intelligence in several fields, one of which is in education, by predicting student performance. Also they have applied AI in the biological field, predicting diseases caused by certain gene mutations.
Additionally, the institute has used AI in oil refining, where they sought to enhance specific refining processes. Moreover, they have published research in this field and have ongoing projects aimed at using artificial intelligence in other fields too.
Dr. Khaja added that Artificial Intelligence enhances the human element, but this element cannot be dispensed with. Most modern AI models are highly complex statistical models, and their capabilities are amazing, but today, they do not have the ability to think. Therefore, AI cannot replace the human element, but it can enhance it.
