Dr. Abdullatif Al Mishari, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, stated that the project includes recreational elements outside the municipality’s jurisdiction until presented for investment, questioning its legal alignment.
• Dr. Abdullatif Al Mishari approved a series of decisions, most notably the expansion of land allocated for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island, which will now cover 116 million square meters—ten times the previously planned area.
Dr. Abdullatif Al Mishari, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, has raised objections to the Municipal Council’s decision on the Kuwait Municipality’s proposal to allocate nine million square meters in North Al-Mutlaa for a desert adventure area project, according to Q8-Press.
In a letter detailing the ratification of decisions from the Municipal Council’s fifth meeting of the third session in the thirteenth legislative term held on October 14, Al-Mishari stated that “the project does not fall within the legally established competencies of ‘the municipality’, given that its components include recreational resorts, a park, and other elements that fall outside the municipality’s jurisdiction until they are presented for investment by it.”
On the other hand, minister Al-Mishari approved a series of decisions from the aforementioned municipal session, most notably the expansion of land allocated for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island, which will now cover 116 million square meters—ten times the previously planned area.
The minister also approved the Ministry of Transport’s request to allocate a site for the major fiber optic network project in the third phase of Salmi.
Additionally, he approved the requests by the Public Authority for Roads & Transportation to allocate only tenbasins with seven water channels and an earthen drain to collect and discharge rainwater in the Sabah Al-Ahmad and South Al-Ahmad residential areas, along with similar allocations of basins, channels, and links for rainwater drainage in Al-Maqwa, Al-Ahmadi, and Al-Mangaf.
