IMA-YouthWing launches ‘Save Water, Energy Today and Save Life for Tomorrow’ campaign

The program began with a Quranic recitation that set a reflective tone, followed by an explanation of the campaign’s beliefs and goals, highlighting the moral and spiritual imperatives of conservation.

The IMA-YouthWing launched its much-anticipated campaign, “Save Water, Energy Today and Save Life for Tomorrow,” at Masjid-e-Abu Rafe in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Kuwait, starting at 1 PM.

The campaign focuses on the themes ‘eat & drink, but do not waste’ (Quran 7:31) and ‘You will be accountable for all the bounties you enjoyed’ (Quran 102:8).

The program began with a Quranic recitation, setting a reflective tone for the event. This was followed by an explanation of the campaign’s beliefs and goals, emphasizing the moral and spiritual imperatives of conservation.

The campaign organizers then welcomed the attendees, including esteemed guests such as Mr. M.K.S. Mohiuddeen, President of the Engineers Welfare Federation; Mr. Syed Khashif Vali, General Secretary of the American Society of Safety Professionals, Kuwait Chapter; as well as representatives from other organizations and IMA leadership.

IMA President Moulana Mohammed Umar Falahi Sahab delivered the main speech, emphasizing the critical need for resource conservation and outlining the campaign’s objectives. Guest speakers from EWF also shared their insights and support for the initiative.

Campaign organizers outlined the key activities and events planned, including:

  • Filter cleaning/changing: Volunteers will clean and replace filters in public water stations to ensure access to clean water.
  • Sticker pasting: Awareness stickers will be placed in prominent public areas to highlight the importance of saving water and energy.
  • Awareness sessions: Educational sessions will be held at public spaces, camps, and beaches to promote conservation practices.
  • ‘X’ campaign: An online campaign will engage the public through social media to spread the conservation message.
  • Reel competition: Participants will create short reels about conservation efforts, with prizes for the best entries.
  • Flyer distribution: Informative flyers will be handed out to educate the community on practical water and energy-saving steps.
  • Video sharing: Short videos will be posted on social media to raise awareness and encourage community participation.

The campaign will conclude on August 16, 2024, with a review of achievements and a discussion of future initiatives.

The launch event ended with a group photo featuring the campaign logo, symbolizing unity and commitment to the cause. The campaign organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants and supporters with a vote of thanks.
