Kuwait witnesses withdrawal of over 211 nationalities in just two weeks
The Ministry of Interior has received 407 reports concerning cases of fraud and dual nationality since opening the hotline to receive reports.

Al-Qabas newspaper has been informed that within the past two weeks, starting from March 4 up to the present, over 211 nationalities have been withdrawn.
A source has revealed that there is a group of “forgery and duplication” files currently on the table of the Supreme Committee for Citizenship. These files are subject to scrutiny in preparation for making decisions to withdraw them after suspicions against them are verified.
The source explained that the withdrawal files are divided into categories, namely: “counterfeiters, fraud, and deception in obtaining citizenship.” Additionally, there are dual nationals who have other nationalities and have the choice between relinquishing it or retaining their Kuwaiti citizenship.
Moreover, there are Kuwaiti women who are married to Kuwaitis with the intention of obtaining Kuwaiti citizenship and are subsequently divorced after naturalization. This occurs immediately, meaning that the husband agrees with the wife to divorce before their marriage.
The source revealed that the Ministry of Interior has received 407 reports concerning cases of fraud and dual nationality since opening the hotline to receive reports. These cases are currently being carefully studied, researched, and investigated to confirm their validity before they are submitted to the Supreme Committee for consideration and any decisions are made regarding them.
The source pointed out that the decisions to withdraw or relinquish citizenship were made according to decrees and by the decision of the Supreme Committee for Citizenship. This indicates that withdrawal decisions will be issued successively.
