Kuwait Launches First Production Batch at Nayef Light Ammunition Factory
Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah highlights the importance of developing national military industries, strengthening self-sufficiency and enhancing defence readiness.
Kuwait’s Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah on Wednesday underscored the importance of developing national military industries and expanding their production capabilities in line with the highest quality and safety standards.
The minister made the remarks while patronizing and attending a ceremony marking the launch of the first production batch at the Nayef Light Ammunition Factory, organized by the General Staff’s Supply and Logistics Authority.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the efforts behind the implementation of strategic military projects, emphasizing the importance of investing in national expertise and capabilities to strengthen defence readiness and support the sustainable development of the country’s military industries.
Meanwhile, Assistant Chief of the General Staff for Supply and Logistics Maj. Gen. Salah Al-Azmi said the factory was the first of its kind in Kuwait and represented a major strategic initiative aimed at localizing defence industries.
He explained that the facility seeks to establish a national industrial base capable of meeting the country’s military and security requirements, strengthening self-sufficiency and supporting the development of national capabilities.
