Kuwait moves to accelerate enforcement of judicial verdicts

The Fatwa and Legislation Department has started coordinating with government agencies to speed up the implementation of court rulings by identifying pending cases, opening enforcement files and completing the required legal procedures.
The Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Judicial Rulings, formed under Decision No. 23 of 2026 by the head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department, has contacted government agencies and provided each with lists of cases related to their respective jurisdictions, based on records available with the department.
The review is intended to establish the status of these cases and determine which require the opening of enforcement files. In its communications, the committee asked government bodies to examine the attached lists and identify the cases for which they consider enforcement files necessary.
They were also requested to provide relevant information and supporting documents to enable the department to take the required legal measures. The committee further urged government agencies to identify any additional cases not included in the supplied lists that may require enforcement proceedings before the General Directorate of Execution.
The authorities were asked to submit the relevant case details and documents to ensure that all outstanding matters are properly addressed. Emphasizing the need for swift action, the committee called on the concerned authorities to provide the requested information without delay, citing the importance of accelerating procedures to ensure the implementation of judicial rulings.
According to the report, several government agencies have already started submitting lists of cases requiring the opening of enforcement files to the Fatwa and Legislation Department in response to its requests.
The submissions will enable the committee to proceed with its work and monitor implementation in coordination with the relevant authorities.
