9,132 citizenships were withdrawn in 99 days
As the Supreme Committee for Nationality Investigation continues to review the presented files, the number of individuals included in its decisions is steadily increasing.
In its meeting chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, H.E. Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, the committee decided to withdraw and revoke Kuwaiti citizenship from 2,162 cases, in preparation for presenting them to the Council of Ministers.
Informed sources told Al-Rai that all files are being thoroughly studied, reviewed, and examined before any decisions are made, in line with the legal procedures in place.
Furthermore, with the number announced on Thursday, 5 December, the total number of people whose nationalities were withdrawn or lost over 99 days, from August 29 to December 5, reached 9,132 cases, the majority of which were women.
According to the figures announced by the Supreme Committee in its weekly meetings, the number of cases covered was 5,870 in November; 820 in October; 202 in September and; 78 in August.
