75 Kuwaiti customs officers trained by US to combat smuggling

The course trained employees on American Customs inspection techniques, enhancing skills for detecting drugs, weapons, smuggling, and improving air cargo and passenger inspections.

The General Administration of Customs has completed a specialized training course on international combating at the airport and air cargo. The course, conducted in collaboration with the American advisory team from US Customs and Border Protection, was held over three sessions and included theoretical and practical training for three different groups, according to Al Rai newspaper.

The course was held at the General Administration of Customs Training Center in July, with 75 customs inspectors participating. Arrangements were made for two experts from US Customs and Border Protection to visit Kuwait to present the course.

The Customs Department praised the importance of such courses for exchanging experiences and sharing key inspection methods between the American and Kuwaiti sides.

The course aimed to train department employees on the inspection techniques and methodologies used by American Customs, enhance international combat methods against the spread of drugs, weapons, and terrorism, and improve skills and knowledge for conducting effective inspections of drugs, smuggled goods, and procedures related to air cargo and passenger operations.
