110 kg adulterated meat and fish seized and destroyed in Hawalli

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition teams carried out an intensive inspection tour of food facilities in the Hawalli Governorate.

This resulted in the seizure and destruction of 109.5 kg of adulterated and unknown-source of meat and fish, which led to the issuance of 27 violations, and closing of 3 facilities, by the Authority.

According to what was published by the “Authority” via its account on the “X” platform, the violations issued were meant for:

• Failure in adhering to rules required in maintaining general hygiene during work.
• Presence of live insects in abundance while handling food items
• Displaying frozen meat and after defrosting it, falsely claiming it as fresh.
• The workers handling food, without a proper health certificate.
