Cabinet tasks PAHW to accelerate projects in coordination with state agencies

The Council of Ministers has directed the Public Institution for Housing Welfare (PIHW) to coordinate with relevant state bodies to advance the implementation of housing projects and associated services, in line with the predetermined timeline and strategic plan. This directive follows a review of PIHW’s latest periodic report detailing the progress of government entities involved in delivering services to housing projects.
Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Mishari underscored the critical importance of public-private sector collaboration in addressing Kuwait’s housing challenges, reports Al-Rai daily.
He noted that the newly enacted Real Estate Developer Law, along with the Real Estate Finance Law currently under consideration by the appropriate authorities, would significantly enhance this partnership.
Al-Mishari emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to benefiting from the expertise and experiences of other Gulf countries in housing development—especially regarding regulatory frameworks like real estate developer systems.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Noura Al-Fassam reiterated the government’s strong belief in its partnership with the private sector. “We are always partners in success with the private sector,” she said, adding that the Real Estate Developer Law will provide citizens with greater variety and more housing options, helping to realize the vision of integrated housing cities across Kuwait.
Al-Fassam also stressed the importance of addressing the needs of Kuwait’s youth by developing innovative housing finance tools in cooperation with private sector institutions, making homeownership more accessible and sustainable.
