Video clip leads to arrest, jail of 3 reckless motorists; vehicles impounded
Personnel from the Directorate-General of Traffic have arrested three young men for reckless and negligent driving that endangered their lives and the safety of other road users.
The arrests happened after a video went viral on the social media documenting the incident. After conducting necessary investigations, the Security Control Department identified the three suspects and took legal action against them.
The young men have been referred to the Central Prison, the vehicles involved have been impounded upon a court order in favor of the Ministry of Interior, in accordance with Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law.
The Directorate General of Traffic warned that reckless and negligent driving will not go unpunished, stressing that anyone found endangering the lives of road users will face the prescribed legal measures.
