Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan said the United States will evacuate 22 crew members from a detained Iranian container ship to Pakistan, where they will be handed over to Iranian authorities.
The ministry described the step as a “confidence-building measure,” aimed at easing tensions and facilitating cooperation on humanitarian grounds. It added that the transfer is expected to take place today, with arrangements coordinated between the concerned parties.
Officials indicated that the move reflects ongoing diplomatic engagement and efforts to manage sensitive regional issues through practical measures.
