US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that US Navy ships will escort oil tankers as they pass through the Strait of Hormuz “if necessary.”
Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, “If necessary, the U.S. Navy will begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible… Whatever the case, the United States will ensure the free flow of energy to the world,” reports Al-Rai daily.
