MOI extends deadline for voluntary surrender of illegal weapons until April 8, 2026

The Ministry of Interior has announced an extension of the grace period for the voluntary surrender of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and explosives for an additional week, now running until the end of official working hours on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The ministry said the extension reflects its commitment to giving individuals sufficient opportunity to hand over illegal weapons in their possession, in support of public safety and enhanced community security. It added that the initiative also allows violators to regularize their status within legal frameworks, reports Al-Anba daily.

Authorities confirmed that weapons can be surrendered easily at all police stations, with no personal data recorded and no punitive action taken during the grace period.

The ministry urged the public to take advantage of the extended deadline, warning that strict legal measures will be enforced against anyone found in possession of illegal weapons after the deadline expires.
