Traffic cameras to monitor seat belt and mobile use violations
Under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Interior has begun installing surveillance cameras to monitor seatbelt violations and the use of mobile phones while driving.
The initiative aims to reduce traffic accidents and enhance road safety by utilizing artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technology to efficiently monitor traffic violations so as to ensure full compliance by drivers and passengers of traffic rules and regulations.
The ministry is urging drivers to follow traffic rules, use seat belts, and avoid using phones while driving to protect their safety and that of other road users.
The ministry also noted that the implementation of these surveillance techniques is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance traffic security and reduce the number of accidents that claim many lives each year. The ministry also hopes this technology will help achieve the desired goals by increasing road safety.
