Supreme Committee strips 375 of citizenship following detailed file review

Those affected include doctors and academics, investigations reveal they had not made any tangible contributions or significant achievements

The files of individuals who were previously granted the Kuwaiti nationality based on their ‘noble deeds’ were thoroughly reviewed and examined individually by the Supreme Committee and found the documentation to be comprehensive and accurate.

Meanwhile, sources confirmed that the committee’s decision on Thursday to revoke the citizenship of 375 individuals included both naturalized citizens and their dependents, according to Al-Rai.
Among those affected were doctors and academics; however, investigations revealed that they had not made any tangible contributions or significant achievements enough to warrant citizenship under the criteria of exceptional service rendered to Kuwait.

The sources added that most of the individuals had held another nationality prior to naturalization and would likely be able to regain it with ease.
