“Public Prosecution” detains suspects for fabricating drug case against Arab expatriate
The Public Prosecution ordered detention of three citizens, and six residents, on charges of arresting and detaining another resident in circumstances not permitted by law, and fabricating a case of possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances against him while forging official documents.
The Public Prosecution explained in a statement that two of the accused, a military personnel in the Ministry of Interior, and upon the orders of their superior, an officer in the ministry, stopped the victim after narcotic and psychotropic substances were planted in his vehicle by one of the accused. And they fabricated a false arrest report of him, in collaboration with others and the victim’s ex-wife.
The Public Prosecution stated that it had begun interrogating the accused regarding the charges against them, and that the investigation procedures were being completed.
The First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of Defense, H. E. Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, ordered the dismissal of the officer and soldiers working in emergency patrols, who were involved in fabricating a drug possession case against an Arab expatriate.
This came after the Ministry of Interior explained that the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department for Combating Narcotics, was able to uncover the details of the fabrication of a case, involving possession of narcotic substances by a resident. It was a conspiracy in which an officer, two soldiers and six other people, including the victim’s ex-wife, participated.
The investigations conducted by the anti-narcotics officers, revealed in detail that the seized drugs were hidden in the victim’s vehicle without his knowledge. This was done with the help of an officer and soldiers from the security patrols. When the resident was arrested, he was referred to the General Department for Anti-Narcotics, where the arrest report was forged in a manner that was contrary to the reality.
The thorough investigations resulted in the arrest of all those involved in this crime, totalling nine people, each of whom confessed to their role. They were then referred to the Public Prosecution to take legal measures and complete the investigations.
